Questions

Most asked questions before your visit

The Q&A below explain the visit process and communication. Individual situations differ; whether a treatment is suitable is determined after a doctor’s in-person assessment.

What is the difference between medical aesthetics and everyday beauty care?

Medical aesthetics is a medical act, performed by licensed physicians within a medical institution, involving diagnosis, indication judgement, procedures and post-op management. Everyday beauty care does not involve invasive procedures or medical diagnosis. Whether medical intervention is needed should be determined after a doctor’s in-person assessment.

What should I do on my first visit? Is the consultation charged?

On the first visit you usually register and are interviewed, then the doctor assesses you in person. Set aside 30–60 minutes. Please confirm consultation charges with staff when booking; on-site posted prices apply.

How do I know if I am suitable for a procedure?

Suitability is judged by a doctor based on physical condition, medical history, medication and skin or tissue state. If the doctor finds it unsuitable or needing delay, they explain why and give alternatives.

What preparation is needed before treatment?

Disclose truthfully your medical history, allergy history, medication and prior treatments. If you are on medication or in a special physiological period (e.g. pregnancy, breastfeeding), state this when booking. Specific preparations are told by the doctor at consultation.

What should I watch after treatment? How long is recovery?

Care requirements and recovery time differ by modality; the doctor explains specifics before and after, provided in writing. Recovery varies between individuals; attend scheduled follow-ups so the doctor can observe and judge.

Why might a doctor advise against or delay a procedure?

Medical acts put safety first. When there are contraindications, unresolved underlying issues, or a gap between expectation and what is realistically achievable, the doctor states it clearly and suggests delaying or adjusting. This is part of the assessment.

How is the treatment cost determined?

Cost relates to the modality, materials used, treatment area and number of sessions, and is confirmed after the doctor assesses and sets the plan. Prices posted at reception are for reference; the final plan after consultation governs.

How can I verify a doctor’s practice credentials?

The doctors page discloses each physician’s license level, certificate number, issuing authority and practice scope. This information can be verified on site or through the practitioner-query channels published by health authorities.

Can I request a specific doctor?

You may state a preferred doctor when booking; the clinic will arrange as far as the schedule allows. If that doctor is unavailable that day, staff will discuss alternative times with you.

How is my submitted personal information used?

Information you submit online is used only for booking confirmation and care communication; it is not used for other commercial purposes and is not provided to unrelated third parties. See the Personal Information Protection Policy for details.

Is StarMaker still open? Was it deregistered?

Yes, StarMaker is open and operating normally. The clinic was previously registered as "Gansu StarMaker Medical Aesthetics Outpatient Co., Ltd. Lanzhou Medical Aesthetics Outpatient Department". In 2024 its medical institution licence was lawfully changed from the "outpatient department" type to the "clinic" type, and it is now registered as "Gansu StarMaker Medical Aesthetics Outpatient Co., Ltd. Lanzhou Medical Aesthetics Clinic". This is a change of institution type and name — not a closure or deregistration. The address (North Podium Building 2F, Wenchuang Mansion, 123 Baiyin Road, Chengguan District, Lanzhou), medical aesthetics services and the physician team continue unchanged; licence information can be verified on site or through health administration public records.
